Neighborhood Information – Indian Bluff Island

Indian Bluff (known as IBI to residents) is a barrier island community to the west of Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club and Alternate 19 in Palm Harbor. Surrounded by the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, this neighborhood makes you feel like you’re in a private resort!

With only a hand full of roads, every home offers quiet, natural surroundings. Enjoy tropical birds and Florida wildlife in your own back yard. Some homes face the Gulf on the island’s eastern side and others border canals or the Bayou on the west.

Many classify IBI as prestigious and exclusive, as there are many million-dollar estates on the Gulf. Yet, part of the charm of the island is that there are still many of the original ranch-style homes here. Homes were built between 1957 and 2008, ranging in size from 1,700 sq. ft. to over 5,000 sq. ft. Most are outfitted with docks, lifts and davits.

Perhaps the best part of Indian Bluff living is that everyone on the island knows each other. There are holiday events, an annual Indian Bluff Island Summer Slam and Fishing Tournament, with proceeds going to support local charities, and lots going on so everyone can get involved. A great community for children, Indian Bluff’s school district is highly acclaimed in Pinellas County.

The island joins the mainland via a causeway that was built in 1957. Indian Bluff is just around the corner from Palm Harbor’s historic district, 45 minutes to Tampa, ten minutes to historic Tarpon Springs or Dunedin beaches and within walking distance to Wall Springs Park and the Pinellas Trail (which meets the causeway).

With its great location and secluded seaside appeal, Indian Bluff is a peaceful place to call home.
